Stampin' Up! is Giving You 20% Discount On Simply Sent Card Kits For One Week Only.
Last night I sat down to try out my new Simply Sent Card Kits, and discovered just how good they are when you need to create something quickly.
At a recent workshop one of my customers commented that although she thought these kits represented great value, she really liked to be able to do different things with her stamps. So I thought I would give that concept a little workout - here are my results.
This first card is one of the prepared cards from the Simply Sent kit- "Sending Happy thoughts", and is very straightforward to make. It is suitable for most age groups including older people who may not have lots of confidence in their creative ability, as all the pieces are pre-cut and step-by-step instructions are include. you can see the little glittery centres of the background flowers, and I love the way the zig zag on the ribbon adds more pattern to the design.
This next card is also from the kit and again, comes with complete instructions and all the pieces set out for you. This is a simple, yet very effective card and the design can be transferred to other colours for a totally different look.
You can see how a 3-D effect is achieved by simply layering the different images using the SU dimensionals, and accents are created with the Dazzling Diamonds and Brads.
Since it took such a short time to complete these two cards, I decided to see what else I could make using the components in the Card Kit. I kept the same colours and only added some more Very Vanilla Card stock. This is what I came up with.
This time I used the Old Olive ink on the flower to stamp onto the Old Olive background - giving a muted effect. I do like texture, so I distressed the edges of the Vanilla card stock with my finger nail, and raised the panel up with dimensionals. I sponged a little Pumpkin Pie around the edges of the Pumpkin card, and I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to ensure the two dotted squares were aligned.
The final card is the only one I didn't use Dazzling Diamonds on. I used the greeting stamp as the stems for the flowers and cut each flower out with the Stampin Up Paper Snips. (They are a must for cutting around shapes, as they are so sharp right to the very tip of the blade, and will cut cleanly into very tight corners.)
One of the fabulous things about these Simply Sent Card Kits is that you have the stamp set, and some of the other accessories left over once you've made your 10 cards.
I think they make a fabulous gift because they are totally all inclusive. The receiver does not have to buy anything extra to complete 10 cards, and all the instructions are included.
